Support the United States Space Force (USSF) as a DoD Contractor specializing in Protected MILSATCOM systems. In this role, you will provide critical expertise and operational support for Protected MILSATCOM constellations and systems. By collaborating with mission partners across a range of specialties, you will play a key role in sustaining and optimizing these assets.

The position primarily focuses on utilizing technical knowledge to support our MILSATCOM Community of Interest (COI) members maintaining and enhancing current systems, with additional opportunities to contribute insights and recommendations toward the development of future Protected MILSATCOM constellations and systems (e.g., ESS, MPAS, PTS, PTES, PATS). This role combines technical proficiency, strategic analysis, and teamwork to ensure mission success while advancing the capabilities of protected SATCOM networks.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:
  • Support the United States Space Force (USSF) Protected Band (PB) Consolidated Satellite Communications (SATCOM) Systems Expert (C-SSE) operations team.
  • Collaborate with mission partners in communications payload engineering, integrations, cryptographic, help desk, watch officer, ally support and other SATCOM COI members. 
  • Provide SATCOM expertise and support in operations, mission planning, crypto, testing, training, user troubleshooting, and system anomaly resolution.
  • Perform monitoring, trend analysis and reporting on operational networks and payload performance. 
  • Conduct direct strategic and tactical network troubleshooting. 
  • Provide protected SATCOM COI technical assessments and recommendations on improved terminal, service, and system configurations and best practices. 
  • Support the development of advanced tactics from a communications perspective, as well as contribute to future Protected Military SATCOM (MILSATCOM) constellations and systems (e.g. ESS, PTS, MPAS, PATS, PTES, etc.).

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor of Science in STEM field from an accredited college or university OR 5+ years prior experience in MILSATCOM or Commercial SATCOM, preferably Protected MILSATCOM – Milstar, AEHF, UHF, UFO, UFO-E/EE, IPS, EPS.
  • Experience in SATCOM engineering, development, planning, operations, testing, or training.
  • Knowledge of EHF user community, mission planning, apportionment/allocation, resource monitoring, and terminal control desired.
  • Knowledge and application of Mission Planning Element/Subsystem (MPE/MPSS) desired.
  • Experience with EHF terminal operations desired (e.g., SMART-T, NMT, FAB-T, GASNT, MPP-U, etc.) desired.
  • Experience in software analysis, modeling, and simulation a plus (e.g., SQL, MATLAB, STK, Scripting, etc.).
  • Comfortably and effectively speak in front of large groups.
  • Independently conduct formal and informal training presentations.
  • Work effectively as a team member, receiving and providing support, inputs, and direction
  • Strong communication skills and team collaboration required.
  • Must be able to support rotating 24/7 on-call responsibilities and occasional on-site surge to support non-standard work schedules.

Clearance and Travel Requirements: 
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with an active US Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Must be located within commuting distance of Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado or be willing to relocate to the area
  • Limited domestic and international travel may be required.
 
Salary Range: $85,000 to $105,000.00 depending on qualifications
